Angels Steps

1. Register with us online and complete our Pre-approval application to see if you meet all the criteria of becoming a Donor Angel. Once accepted, you will continue moving forward with the complete application, to create your online profile for our database. If for any reason your preapproval application is pending or rejected, one of our coordinators will contact you directly to discuss further.
2. Once your application has been reviewed, and preliminary qualifications are met, prospective egg donor will meet with an egg donor coordinator in-person or via our video conferencing system; for an interview. Once you have been placed in the donor database and selected, our donor coordinator will help make arrangements for you to meet with the parents IVF Doctor where they will go over all the medical details, including medications that you will use during the treatment cycle and how to administer them.
3. Once you have been notified of qualification, the questionnaire you completed, along with the photos you submitted, are placed on our donor database for recipients to review while selecting their donor. Some donors may be selected by a recipient couple immediately while others may not be selected for months. If at any time an egg donor decides not to participate in the program, she can simply notify the egg donor coordinator to be removed from our database.
4. Once selected by a recipient, we require all egg donors to see an Yvision approved psychologist and genetic counselor. The psychological interview will focus on the many complex moral, ethical, and psychosocial issues that confront egg donors. Your genetic consultation will help determine if you are a good candidate to become an egg donor.
5. Although donors remain anonymous and do not have any legal rights or obligations to any child born from treatment, all donors are required to sign consent forms for egg donation. The consent forms will clarify legal issues and describe the egg donation procedure including the risks. Consent forms must be signed for each donation cycle. Identities of the donors and recipients are never known to one another and are kept in strict confidentiality.
6. Once the donor has completed all screenings and been successfully matched with a recipient, the Nurse Coordinator will initiate the egg donation cycle based on both the recipients and donors menstrual cycles. In some case, birth control pills are used to line up cycles. Once this is accomplished, the fertility medication is started to stimulate the ovaries to produce eggs. Your two weeks of stimulation will not be easy nor will it be convenient but it is necessary that you commit to this process thoroughly and be available to attend all morning appointments (usually before 11am). The recipient couple is investing a great sum of money in their quest to make the dream of having a child a reality. Their dream is dependent on you.
